Scientific and reasonable cataloging outsourcing could save human resources, material resources and financial resources, improve the work efficiency and service quality. Libraries in China have implemented the cataloging outsourcing one by one, but have gone into the misunderstanding of pursuing free outsourcing services excessively, which lead to the quality reduction of cataloging data. Therefore, libraries should combine with the actual situation, abandon low-level free cataloging outsourcing services forwardly, train professional cataloging outsourcing providers positively, and implement the cataloging outsourcing program cautiously.
