Impact of Inclusion Criteria for the Periodical Quality in Literature Index System

In this paper we analyze the relationship of the inclusion criteria of well known international science and engineering index systems and the quality of science and technology periodicals. We conclude that, the reporting topics of a periodical must fall the covering scope of an index system. Most index systems require that periodical papers are peer reviewed which influences the appointment of the editorial board and the setting up of reviewer database. The quality of periodical abstracts must fulfill the requirement of the index systems.
