摘要
第二届"外教社杯"全国大学英语教学大赛与首届比赛相比,无论是组织、评审标准还是选手表现等方面都有较大的进步,显示了教学大赛对相关理论研究、教师培训和课堂教学的积极促进作用。但是,第二届大赛还是反映出选手的教学目标比较笼统、对语言能力训练与主题知识传授拓展之间的平衡把握不足、过于依赖多媒体技术、语言运用能力和综合素质尚待提高等问题。本文指出,大学英语课堂教学应根据学生学习外语的特点,在加强学生语言技能训练的同时,努力强化语言作为学习和知识拓展工具的意识,培养学生自主学习的能力。外语学术界应该顺势加强课堂教学理论研讨,强化教师的目标意识、课堂教学效果和效益意识,组织相关教师培训,推动教师发展,以全面提高大学英语教学质量。
Compared with the first, the second SFLEP National College English Teaching Contest achieved much greater progress in terms of organization, evaluation standards, and contestant performances, etc., which indicates that the first contest and the discussions followed has made a positive impact on college English teaching as a whole. However, in the second contest, some contestants were still unable to set appropriate classroom objectives, design or organize activities that contribute to meeting the objectives or cater for the students' practical needs. Some had difficulty in balancing the time and efforts spent on language skill training and content teaching. This paper points out that college English classroom teaching needs to develop students' autonomous learning skills and strike a balance between language skill training and content knowledge development. The paper calls for further research into basic principles of classroom teaching and teacher development, thus helping teachers focus on the effectiveness and efficiency of classroom practices and activities.
