摘要
以Pulido的实验为依据,研究文化熟悉度和篇章视觉词汇量对外语阅读过程中附带词汇习得量的影响。选取31名中等英语学习者,完成背景问卷及篇章视觉词汇量测试、词汇翻译测试、词义选择测试。结果表明,中等文化熟悉度对中等英语学习者在外语中附带习得词汇有显著影响,而协变量篇章视觉词汇量对其的整体影响不显著。本研究结果为背景图式理论的认知学习提供了一定实证依据。
The effect of cultural familiarity and passage sight vocabulary on incidental vocabulary acquisition through FL reading was studied. 31 sophomore university students with intermediate English level, participated in the study. Subjects finished the pretests consisting of a background questionnaire and a test of passage sight vocabulary. A week later subjects were required to read the two passages and then finish the two vocabulary gain test in order. The result indicated that cultural familiarity has a strong effect on incidental vocabulary acquisition though FL reading by intermediate English learners; while the overall effect of passage sight vocabulary was proved to be inconsistent. The findings provide empirical evidence for Schema - theoretic view of learning
