ABSTRACT: In 2006, Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted an excavation to the cemetery to the west of Wuxing Village in Zhengding County, Hebei Province. This excavation recovered 121 tombs, six of which were that of the Warring-States Period. Among these tombs of the Warring-States Period, one was a small-sized and five were medium-sized. The small-sized tomb was an earthen shaft pit single burial tomb in trapezoidal plan with a coffin in the grave; the tomb occupant was in extended supine position and the grave goods were bronze weapons and tools. The five medium-sized tombs were all earthen shaft pit single burial tombs in rectangular plan with an outer coffin and an inner coffin in the grave; the occupants were in extended or flexed supine positions and the grave goods were a few bronze wares and clam shells. The tomb structures and the pottery assem- blages showed that these tombs were that of the adherents of the Zhongshan State which was annexed by the Zhao State in late Warring-States Period; the occupants of the medium-sized tombs were low- er-ranking aristocrats and that of the small-sized tomb was a warrior.
