Textual Features of Official Documents and Their C/E Translation Strategies

政府公文是党政机关、企事业单位公务活动的产物,在政治活动中发挥着特定的交际功能。公文翻译承担着向国内外受众准确传达国家内政外交方针政策、法律规章以及各类文书证件的任务,事关我国的国家利益、国际形象与文化地位。从词汇、句法和语篇三个层面对政府公文的文体特征进行概括,探讨其翻译的基本原则。

Official documents are products derived from activities of the party, guvemment organizations, enterprises and other public institutions. They are fulfilling specific communicative functions in political activities. The translation of official docu- ments is responsible for proper propaganda of national policies, laws, decrees, regulations and other documents. It＇s closely re- lated to the national interest, image and standing. The basic lexical, syntactic and textual features of these documents are sum- marized and some fundamental principles for their translation are outlined.
