Cultural Information Loss in the Translation and the Coherence of the Translated Text

翻译研究中的文化是以文化信息的形式存在于语言符号背后的,语言在一定的文化语境中生存,也承载着文化。翻译是在语言符号转换的过程中实现信息的传递,而由于语言符号生存的文化语境差异,翻译行为中文化信息的丢失是难以避免的,而这种丢失会造成译文语篇连贯受损,因而译者需要在翻译中采取各种措施,从而实现译篇连贯的重构。

In the study veyed by the linguistic s of translation, culture takes the form of cultural information and is always con- ymbols. Language, which exists in a certain cultural environment, serves as ave- hicle for culture. Translators try to transfer information when they make conversions between language sys- tems. However, due to the different cultural environments, there will always be cultural information loss in the translation, which will influence the coherence of the translated text. Therefore, the translators should take measures to reconstruct the coherent text.
