Objective To discuss the appropriate position of conventional radiotherapy for cervical cancer patients. Methods Ten cases of cervical cancer patients were selected,5 patients underwent fixed angle source axis distance conventional radiotherapy by supine position, the other 5 patients by prone position, each patient was verified by repeated setup on the simulator 3 times per week,so as to compare the vertical distance of the verified images with that of the skeletal A marked point to the X-,Z-axis of the positioning image for the same patient and find the offset of the X-,Z-axis direction. The data of supine and prone position were compared. Results There were significant difference between the supine and prone position in the X-,Z-axis direction(P0.05).Conclusion Prone position is better than supine position of conventional radiotherapy for cervical cancer due to the smaller setup errors.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2012,33(6):63-64,100]
