“夫子矢词”之功能语言学探究

A Functional Perspective on Fu Zi Shi Ci

《论语》"雍也篇第六"中"夫子矢词"困惑着历代学者:其一,孔子与弟子言语,何必指天发誓?其二,"矢词"中"矢之"和"厌之"中的"之"该当何解?对于这些疑点,历来学者多数是通过说文解字来寻求答案。从文献上看,应用系统功能语言学理论探讨以上疑点的研究尚不多见。本文在前人说文解字的基础上,引入当今最具影响力的系统功能语言学相关理论探究"夫子矢词",重点考察选择这一特殊语言形式背后的原因,进一步证明系统功能语言学"形式是意义的体现"的观点,并验证将话轮、衔接、连贯等概念应用于探讨《论语》雍也篇第六"夫子矢词"及其英译问题的适用性和可操作性。我们的研究旨在拓宽《论语》及其英译研究的思路,为《论语》的今译和英译提供借鉴和参考。

Fu Zi Shi Ci,also the Six Chapter of Yong,in The Analects,has long been puzzling many scholars.Different approaches have been applied to study the oath,with interesting findings which are concerned with different aspects of the Oath existing.The findings from the theory of systematic functional linguistics could hardly be found in literature review.On the basis of the predecessors' findings,the article focuses on the application of the relevant theories,the most influential systematic functional linguistics,to the study of Fu Zi Shi Ci and explore the causes behind this special language form.It further proves that the form is the representation of meaning,and the applicability and operability for applying the concepts of context of co-text,cohesion,coherence have been verified in the study of Fu Zi Shi Ci in The Analects of Confucius and its English translation.The study aims to broaden the thoughts and its English translation of The Analects of Confucius,and propose reference to its contemporary translation as well as English translation.
