The theoretical studies on sampling for analytical chemistry was reviewed, which included therelationship between the sampling errors and the physical and chemical properties of the population, theapplication of modern statistical theories and methods and the quality control in sampling for analyticalchemistry. The advances in the theoretical aspect study and the trends of sampling for analytical chemistrywere also described.
