The Southwest Rear Area Modernization in the Background of Population Migration during the Anti-Japanese War

抗战时期的人口内迁是中国现代史上最大的一次人口内迁运动,至少超过一千万的沿海人口为躲避战乱纷纷迁入西部大后方。大量人口内迁,有力地推动了西南大后方城市化、教育现代化和社会习俗现代化。抗战时期西南地区现代化进程的加快,其动力因素主要来自于外部。抗战时期西部现代化属于中国的"后发外生型"现代化类型。

During the Anti-Japanese War, population migration into Southwest area is largest population migration movement in Chinese modern history. At least more than ten million of the coastal population moved to west rear to escape the war. The large population migration promoted the urbanization, the education modernization and social customs modernization of the cities in southwest rear area. The Southwest region sped up the process of modernization. The dynamic factors of the modernization of the southwest region mainly come from the outside and the modernization belongs to the modernization type of late-extra hepatic growing.
