模糊数量词丰富了数词的语义特征,具有精确数词所没有的语用功能。通过分析模糊数量词的成因及分类,结合新闻英语的特点和实例,试着探讨英语新闻报道使用模糊数量词的必要性及其语用功能。
Vagueness make quantifiers colorful in semantic meaning and vague quantifiers excel precise numbers in some pragmatic aspects.Based on the analysis of the reasons for vagueness in quantifiers and its classification,the paper intends to discuss necessity of vague quantifiers in English news reports and its special pragmatic functions by studying examples from English news.
