国防生是介于军校生与地方普通大学生之间的特殊群体,毕业后要献身国防建设事业。培养和提高国防生综合素质,是国防和军队现代化建设的需要。依托培养高校必须认真分析和研究国防和军队现代化建设对人才的需求,利用资源优势,遵循高等教育规律,拓展教育途径,创新教育形式,丰富教育内容,提高国防生综合素质。

National defense students are the special group between cadets and college students. They will be devoted to the national de- fense all their life after graduation. Improving the comprehensive quality of national defense students is necessary for national defense and modernization program. Universities need to improve the comprehensive quality of national defense students through the way of a- nalysis of the needs of the national defense and modernization program, using advantageous resources, developing the education approach and innovating the education ways and contents.
