Core problem in the stand-off cylindrical worm gear design is the meshing parameter selection especially the position shifiing factor selection. In this paper 'out of gear all' and 'all gear meshing' concepts are given. The authour points out that the stand-off worm gear is as important technical channel that can improve the bearing capacity, drive efficiency, vibration absorption and noise reduction of the cylindrical worm gear
