外贸函电汉英翻译中的汉语模糊性辨析

On the Vagueness of Chinese in C-E translation of Business Letters

模糊性是人类自然语言的本质特征之一,与英语相比较,汉语具有更明显的模糊性,这种模糊性体现在语汇、句法和篇章等方面,这三个方面也就成了分析外贸函电汉英翻译中实现化模糊为精确的出发点。

Vagueness is one of the substantial features of human beings＇ languages. Compared with English, Chinese claims to be much vaguer. However, the translation of business letters must be correct and precise, which requires the transformation from vagueness to preciseness. Analyzing this problem from the following three aspects ： lexemes, syntax and discourse, resorting to some translated versions in business letters, the author clarifies how to undertake the C - E translation of business letters precisely.
