语言哲学意义理论的嬗变与翻译研究范式的变迁

Transmutation of Meaning Theories in Philosophy of Language and Shifts of Translation Studies Paradigms

语言哲学对意义的认知由浅入深,产生了许多意义理论,导致了翻译理论家借助新理论去重新诠释意义及其在翻译当中的转换,这些意义理论的嬗变对于不用阶段的翻译研究范式的变迁产生了巨大的影响。本文从意义的(实在性、意向性、社会规则、历史和语用等)维度、意义的基本单位和意义是否具有确定性等三大方面对语言哲学中的意义理论的嬗变以及由此引起的翻译研究范式变迁进行了分析,并指出多种翻译研究范式并存以及今后向基于语料库的翻译研究范式变迁的必然性。

Various meaning theories have sprung out from the study of meaning in Philosophy of Language and human＇ s inter- pretation of meaning theories represents a gradual process evolving from simplicity to plurality. Such meaning theories are applied by the translation theorists in the reinterpretation of meaning and its shifts in the course of translation and thus the trans- mutation of the meaning theories has exerted considerable influence on the shifts of translation studies paradigms in different phases. This paper discusses the transmutation of meaning theories and the shifts from the three perspectives including the di- mensions （substantiality, intentionality, institution, history and pragmatics）, basic units and the determinability of meanings, and points out the inevitability of paradigm shift towards corpus-based translation studies apart from the co-occurrence of the other paradigms in the future.
