This Article makes an analysis of the the status quo of the coal industry structure and the existng problems in the coal industry of China in aspects such as production structure, product structure, enterprise organizational structure, internal industrial structure, technical structure, regional structure and labour strcture, etc. The article also presents a description about the development trends of the coal sector in other parts of the world. The article finally pinpoints eight differences or gaps of China's coal industry from that of other major coal producing countries.
