摘要
《自由国度》是2001年诺贝尔文学奖获得者奈保尔的"最重要的作品"。小说通过对不同主人公的空间生存状态的描写,采用不同的叙事视角叙述其人生际遇,表现了身处异国他乡的移民在异域文化环境中感受到的疏离感,再现了后殖民时代的"自由状态"。
In a Free State is one of the masterpieces of V. S. Naipaul, the 2001 Nobel Prize winner ir~ literature. By describing different characters＇ living space and telling about the fortunes of their characters from different perspectives, the novel displays the sense of alienation of the immigrants while living a foreign cultural environment and reproduces the ＂free state＂ in the post-colonial age.
