论洋务运动指导思想“中学为体,西学为用”的合理性

"中学为体,西学为用"作为洋务运动的指导思想,本是为抵御外侮、匡救时弊。其中,"西学为用"是洋务派官员总结自身经历和向他国学习的产物。且因当时儒家政治文化占统治地位以及洋务派官员的地主阶级属性,故"中学为体"的提出也是势所必然。而且,"中学为体"也减少了变革的阻力,使洋务运动得以在较长时间内进行,并取得重大成就,带动了中国资本主义的起步。洋务运动最后失败,根本原因不是它的指导思想,而是包括洋务派在内的统治阶级的腐朽与自私。
