Application of ODBC for creating bulk user accounts with Serv-U

随着现代多媒体教学的新要求,需要为每位学生建立网络存储空间,由于学生数量较多,传统使用网络空间共享的方法已不适用。针对现有的教学条件和教学环境,提出了利用Serv-U实现网络存储与管理的方法,即在服务器上为每个用户开辟网络空间,通过Serv-U的数据库功能建立相对应的用户帐号,并采用了自身中文名登录网络空间的方式,同时用户还可以在线即时修改访问密码。由此,解决了学生机维护困难的难题,同时也保证了数据的安全,增强了教学的质量和秩序,重要的是可以大批量地建立用户帐号,极大地减轻了工作量,提高了管理的工作效率。

With the new requirements of modern multi-media teaching, more cyber storage space is needed for every student. As a result of the vast majority of students, the traditional way of sharing space with cyber is not suitable any more. A new way of cyber storage and management by Serv-U is proposed according to the present teaching conditions and environ- ments （that is, open up independent cyberspace for every user on the server, and create a corresponding account by Serv-U data）. Additionally, users can use their Chinese names to log in the space, and they can modify their password online whenever they like. Thus, the problem of maintaining students＂ computers was solved, and the security of the data be guaran- teed. This new approach is operational, safe and practical. The management workload was greatly reduced because a large number of accounts can be created at a same time.
