Improved Computational Method for Infrared Target-Background Contrast

为使红外目标背景的对比度有效地表征目标背景红外特性差别,用目标背景之差的绝对值与两者间较小值的比值来定义目标背景的对比度的大小,克服了传统定义方法的不足.仿真计算结果表明,与两种传统红外目标背景对比度计算方法相比,本文方法能更好地反映目标背景的差别,更有效地表征目标与背景之间的对比度,有利于目标探测最佳波段的选取.

In order to make the contrast of infrared target-background representing effectively the infrared feature differences of the target-background, this paper defines the contrast size of target-background using the ratio of the absolute value of target-background difference to the mini value between them both, thus overcoming the drawback of conventional definition method. By simulation, it is shown that the proposed method can represent the difference of target-background preferably, and characterize the contrast between the target and background even more effectively, making for the selection of optimum band for target detection.
