Dash has similar functions that adds logic to language and enriches ways of expressions both in English and Chinese, and it is a major punctuation for aiding words to show feelings. Because of different language segment generations, there are many disparities between English and Chinese in the order and segment of sentence, therefore punctuations should be treated as carefully as words in translation. Even though dashes in the two languages have alike functions, the use frequencies of dashes are quite distinct, so they can not be copied from one to the other one. The application of dash in the target text is decided by its concrete usage and source text to achieve translating text precisely and expressing them idiomatically.
