With the developments of the informative technology and the Internet, the periodical database is playing an more and more significant role as an important documentary resource in the libraries of colleges and universities. The purchase and construction of the periodical database becomes one of the major works of the libraries. How to estimate the quality of periodical database objectively and accurately, use the purchasing fund in an economic way, and optimize the structure of the collection of library, are the problems which we need to face and treat with seriously in the management of the library.
