In the post-cold war era, researchers usually pay much more attention to neo-conservatism than to liberalism when examining the US foreign policy, especially after the 9/11 attack. However, as a deep-rooted tradition in America＇s political ideology, liberalism has been playing a pivotal role, as seen from the foreign policy of all the American governments in the post-cold war era.
