基于语料库的英语专业学生议论文中因果连接词使用研究

A Corpus-based Study on the Usage of Causal Connectives in Argumentation of Chinese English Majors

本研究利用语料库来调查英语专业学生在议论文写作中使用因果连接词的情况,结果发现中国学生在使用因果连接词时,偏好于使用因果连接副词,倾向于使用表示结果关系的因果连接词,而相对较少使用因果连接介词与表示原因关系的因果连接词。此外,学生的语体意识薄弱,表现出很强口语化的特征。在此基础上,探讨分析了其内在的原因,提出学生在使用因果连接词上所表现出来的特点,在很大程度上是由于中西方思维模式以及英汉之间的差异所造成的。

The corpus-based study focuses on investigating how Chinese English majors use causal connectives in their argumentation,discovering they prefer using causal adverbs to causal prepositional connectives and prefer using causal connectives indicating effect to casual connectives indicating cause.Meanwhile,being lack of awareness of difference of types of writing,they show striking characteristic of colloquialism in the formal argumentation.It is then probing into the potential reasons based on this finding,proposing the characteristics in terms of using causal connectives in argumentation is to a large extent caused by the divergence of the thinking model and language between China and the west.
