Jingchu Differentiation

荆指黄荆,楚为荆中之秀者;楚人以楚自名寓形而上追求。秦以后,荆发展出贫寒朴拙义,楚发展出美好、伧俗及拷打、痛苦等义。荆楚,在殷周之际称楚人及楚国;六朝以来称古荆州范围内之楚国及其文化;隋唐以来指以荆州(故楚都城纪郢之所在)为中心的故楚中心区湖北及其楚文化。

Jing means Huang Jing, Chu is excellent in Jing; Chu people named Chu as the pursuit. After the Qin dynasty, Jing develop poor simple meaning, Chu developed a beautiful, vulgar and torture, pain, etc. Jingchu, Yin and Zhou dynasties that Chu and Chu; since the six dynasties of ancient culture of Jingzhou in the area of Chu and; since the Sui and Tang dynasties in Jingzhou （where the Chu capital Ji Ying） as the center of the central area of Chu and Chu culture in Hubei province.
