初中阶段要加强对学生思维能力的培养。思维能力的培养对学生能否提升自主学习能力，能否具备创新能力。能否适应时代的需要养成终身学习的能力具有极其重要的作用；培养初中生的思维能力既需要充分发挥教师的主导作用，加强对学生的引导；也需要充分发挥学生的主体作用，让学生在实践中提升思维能力，掌握运用思维方法。在教学实践中，还需要注意采用多重途径和方法来提升学生的思维能力的水平。
