Oriental Implications——A Study of the Laws of Chinese Sculpture Modeling

雕塑传达人对世界的审美认识，是情感的物质凝聚。即表现外在现象之时，反映内心感受；或者说为表达内心所思，由情感主导外在表现。雕塑造型始终围绕怎么表现物象以体现意识而展开，总体及相较而言，中国雕塑为意象造型。意，即意识，是人脑对于客观物质世界的反映，是感觉、思维等各种心理过程的总和；象，即样子和形状。

Sculpture, as a product of material accumulation of emotions, converys the aesthetical understanding of human be- ing towards the world, which means external expression reveals the internal feelings, or, in another word, emotions dominate external performance in expressing what you are thinking inside. Sculpture modeling has always centerred around how to create material images in order to reflect its mental state. Generally speaking, Chinese sculpture falls into the type of conceptual modeling.
