The Nature of Socialism:the Core of the Theory of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics

1992年春天邓小平在南方讲话中提出了一系列重大创新理论观点,其中社会主义本质论是中国特色社会主义理论的核心理论。社会主义本质论全面回答了"什么是社会主义"和"怎样建设社会主义"这个长期没有搞清楚的社会主义基本理论问题,把我们对社会主义的认识提高到一个新的科学水平,对进一步探索怎样建设中国特色社会主义具有重要的理论和实践指导意义。

In his speech in the South in the spring of 1992, Deng Xiaoping brings forth a series of major innovational theoretical points of view, among which the nature of socialism is the core of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It gives a comprehensive answer to questions of what is so- cialism and how to build socialism, which improves our understanding of socialism with Chinese char- acteristics to a new scientific level and has important theoretical and practical significance for construc- ting the socialism with Chinese characteristics.
