Visual LISP as a renew AutoLISP product was formally integrated in AutoCAD 2000 published in March,1999. Visual LISP not only provides totally Visual programming and debugging environment, but also adds more support to the ActiveX and event reactor. According to the standard Windows information AutoCAD event reactor can inspect any event that interests you and transfer corrsponding function called call-back function during AutoCAD running. Visual LISP support five reactors,including editor reactor, object reactor and so on. Each reactor responses one or several AutoCAD event and intercommunicates with application of call-back function. In fact, the call-back function is only a standard AutoLISP function binded to the event reactor. This article introduces in detail how to use event reactor technology in Visual LISP programming and how to declare the call-back function, moreover, it provides corresponding application examples as well. Application of the event reactor make an important step for more intelligent AutoCAD.
