Measures taken to prolong the service life of Ekou Iorn Mine's tailings dam are described.The production practice has shown that the application of the middle line method of dam construction and the tailing transportation using wate isolation pumps are an effective way.As a result,the continuation of the tailings storage in the late period of the dam's service life is solved and the dam's height increase can prolong the service life and save a large sum of cost for building a new dam.
