Reading and Writing，Both for Commemoration

作为艺术的文学,总是一边受政治的影响,一边对政治进行反抗,文学由此充满了爱恨情仇,但唯有爱是不可或缺的,它是开始也是结局,而那些各种各样的恨则是其间的过程。无论是左拉、契诃夫还是基耶斯洛夫斯基、克拉韦尔,或者不同时代的作家与读者,写作和阅读都是为了纪念。

Literature as an art form is influenced and opposed to politics. Literature, therefore, is full of love and hatred, of which only love is indispensable. Love is the beginning and the end, while hatred is merely what appears in between. Writing and reading, for Zo- la, Chekhov, or Kieslowski, Clavel, or any writers and readers of any age, are always for commemoration.
