Rethinking on Design and Construction of Brick Masonry Architecture

砖作为一种历史悠久的建筑材料,在建筑史上有举足轻重的地位。在建筑施工发展到工业化和机械化的今天,砖从结构材料演变为饰面材料,延续着旧时代的传统。本文分析砖在不同历史阶段中所扮演的角色,并通过两个利用数字化加工技术改进砌体建筑施工流程的案例分析,探讨在新时代砖延续和发展建构传统的可能。

As a building material with a long history, brick has played an important role in the architectural history. Nowadays, the building construction is industrialized and mechanized. Although brick has regressed to a cladding material from structure behavior. it still remains its inherent beauty. This article makes an analysis on the roles of brick in different ages and explores the possibility that brick inherits and develop its traditional role of construction in ＂the new age with two case studies on the construction process of the masonry buildings with digital processing and technical improvement.
