On Cultural Regression of Nationality Reconstruction

20世纪以来,我国的国民性改造的思潮和实践,出现了三次高潮,至今方兴未艾。国民性改造产生了一个悖论现象,即在卸载民族文化基因的同时,导致了向中国文化传统的隐性回归和显性回归。这种"返本开新"式的国民性改造,是民心所向、社会所需,预示着中华民族伟大复兴的独特趋势。

Since the 20th century, the trend of thought and practice of the nationality reconstruction in China has reached climax for three times and remained unfolding. Nationality reconstruction produced a paradox, that is, in the process of unloading national cul- tural genes, dominant and recessive regression to Chinese cultural tradition took shape in the mean time. This phenomenon of ＂Retur- ning to Nature and Cultivating New Sphere＂ is what people and the society desire, bearing positive social significance and some disad- vantages as well.
