图书馆现实——虚拟混合的IC服务模式——以中国科学院国家科学图书馆武汉分馆为例

A Mixed Service Pattern Based on Real and Virtual ICs——The Case of Wuhan Branch of The National Science Library of CAS

信息共享空间(IC)是日益引起全世界广泛关注的崭新的图书馆服务理念。该理念强调"以用户为中心的、协作式、一站式"。该理念有望将图书馆由逐渐被边缘化到重新成为读者科研、学习中心。本文首先对国内外IC主要实践模式及发展趋势进行了总结,同时对典型图书馆大规模建设IC进行了需求分析,认为现阶段我国许多图书馆特别是非高校图书馆不适合建设大规模的IC服务。随后提出了一种"现实——虚拟"IC混合服务模式。这种服务模式一方面能够满足少量在馆用户的实际IC服务需求;另一方面,又能通过信息和网络技术为离馆用户模拟实现IC服务功能,是一种较好的过渡性措施。中国科学院国家科学图书馆武汉分馆开展的"现实——虚拟IC混合服务模式"的研究与实践也表明,这种混合服务模式能够很好地满足用户需求,具有较好的应用前景。

Information Commons is a brand new idea in library service which is attracting more and more attention of the world.The core of this idea is that library should supply with customer-centric,cooperative and one-stop service,which may be helpful to re-bring the library to a research and study center from being marginalized.In this paper,the practice patterns and their development trend were first reviewed and analyzed.Then a demand analysis was conducted.It was found that it is not economical and hence not necessary to build large mounts of real IC facilities in the present stage.Then virtual IC service was presented.It is suggested that a mixed service pattern based on real and virtual ICs is most proper and practical for a class libraries especially non-university ones.This service pattern can not only meet the small mounts of on-library needs in short term but also can supply the off-library customer with a simulated IC experience from IC software.A practice conducted by Wuhan Branch of National Science Library,CAS show that this service pattern can well meet the current needs of users and successful.So this pattern,giving consideration to both economy practicality,may have good application prospects.
