The statistical work plays an important role in university library. It is the process of collecting, settling, analyzing and researching all kinds of data. The work itself is the key basis of scientific and quantitative management, while the statistical result may accurately and fully reflect all aspects of the library work and the basic laws of library ac-tivities. This article discusses the functions of statistical work in university library, and then it proposes some ways to improve it.
