Explicit Grammatical Knowledge and L2 Acquisition:An Empirical Study

摘要 本研究用实证的方法考察了19名英语专业学生在多大程度上能辨认并解释他们在即兴口头输出任务中使用的语法结构,旨在研究显性语法知识与学习者语言能力之间的关系。实验结果显示学习者不仅能够辨认出绝大多数即兴语言输出任务中运用正确的句子,并且还能够为运用正确的语法结构提供语法解释。本研究说明大多数语法结构在学习者头脑中是以显性知识存在的,显性语法知识可以以间接方式促进学习者二语习得。 This paper studies the relationship between explicit grammatical knowledge and linguistic competence by investigating to what extent 19 English majors can identify and understand the grammatical structures they produce when they speak spontaneously. The result shows that in most cases, the learners were able to identify correct sentences and explain the grammar rules that accounted for their own accurate L2 performance. The result demonstrates that the learners knew most of the grammatical structures explicitly and it also indicates that explicit grammatical knowledge can contribute to SLA in an indirect way.
