摘要
尤金·奥尼尔是美国现代戏剧的奠基人和缔造者,从他的戏剧一问世就对中国产生较大影响,20世纪20年代至40年代是中国奥尼尔戏剧研究的第一次高潮,他的不少剧作被译成中文,得到上演,受到研究界的重视;解放后的头30年,奥尼尔戏剧研究处于沉默状态,几乎停滞;改革开放后的30年我国的奥尼尔研究出现了新高潮,评论文章迭出,研究专著也越来越多,影响日益扩大。
Eugene O＇ Neill （1888 -1953 ） is the pioneer and lather ot modem American drama, tie is tlae onty Amencan praywright who wins the Nobel Prize. As soon as he came on the American stage, the influence of his plays expanded to China. The period between the 1920s - 1940s is the first climax of O＇ Neill research in China;some of his early plays were translated and produced in China. The first 30 years after 1949 is a period of silence in O＇ Neill research. A new climax came into being after 1979. Many critical articles were publishied, and academic books on O＇ Neill came on one after another. The influence of O＇ Neill＇ s plays has been increasing in China.
