摘要
本研究从Jiang Nan的二语词汇表征和处理模型出发对母语在二语词汇学习中的作用进行了假设,并采用定量和定性相结合的方法对这一假设进行了验证。80名英语专业一年级学生接受了为期6周的培训并参加了词汇的前测、即时后测和延时后测。结果基本证实了研究假设:母语在词汇发展的早期对二语词汇学习起促进作用,之后便逐渐减弱并消失;母语的作用同时受学生已有词汇水平的影响。
Based on the second language lexical representation and processing model put forward by Jiang Nan,this study proposes a hypothesis for the impact of mother tongue on second language vocabulary learning.The study attempts to verify the hypothesis using both qualitative and quantitative methods.80 first-year English-major university students received six weeks of training and attended a vocabulary pre-test,an immediate post-test and a delayed post-test.The results support the hypothesis.Specifically,mother tongue plays a part in second language vocabulary learning at early stages of vocabulary development,but this role later lessens and disappears gradually.Besides,the role of mother tongue is influenced by the pre-existing vocabulary knowledge.
