The development of translation-specialized teachers is the key factor 1：o the success of translation teaching as well as a significant guarantee for the future development of this newly established major and the translation talents cultivation. This paper starts with a discussion on the qualities that a teacher of translation should process together with the relative theories on teacher development, based on which, it analyzes the current major problems concerning the teacher development. Finally approaches are offered and solutions are suggested accordingly in order to contribute to the future development of teachers of translation.
