On the Evolution,Motivation and Development Tendency of the Relationship between Japan and Cambodia

日柬关系发展的演变过程经历了初步发展、缓慢发展以及全面发展的三个时期。由于日柬两国政府和民众具有比较一致认同的深厚社会基础,日本也有进一步扩大在湄公河次区域国家持久影响力的长远考量以及柬埔寨借重日本政治、经济力量推动本国经济社会发展的战略意图,日柬关系发展比较顺畅。但日柬两国在政治、经济领域都存有分歧或障碍,在一定程度上将影响未来双方关系的实质性发展。

The evolution of Japan-Cambodia relations have gone through the three periods of the initial development,slow development,all-round development.Japan-Cambodia relations will develop smoothly because of the profound social basis between the two governments and the public,Japan's long-term consideration of the lasting influence in the Mekong Sub-region countries and Cambodia's strategic intention to draw on Japan's political and economic power to promote the national economic and social development.Differences or barriers in political and economic fields for future Japan-Cambodia relations will,to some extent,affect the substantive development of the bilateral relations.
