Trifles is a classical one act play written by American playwright Susan Glaspell in the early 20th century. The play reflects the awakening and rebellion of womeng self consciousness in a patriarchal society. This article applies feminist critical theory to analyze the theme of the play, which aims to reveal the repression and confinement of man dominated society against women, and encourage women to fight for their own rights.
