Through an overview of the development trend of the modern museum building, and combined with the case of contemporary famous Museum of repair and expanding design.,this article attempts to make a deep research of the update of the old building theory ,and Sum up the common point in the face of the revival the architectural heritage of different architects. In face of the repair and extending design, we will fix the focus on the element which stressed history ＂dating＂ and ＂continuation＇＂ and ＂respect for nature＂ in terms of style, materials, construction convergence. And ultimately improve the protection and update the theoretical logic of the old building on this basis and starting point.
