Combining with working practice,the paper describes matters encountering in horizontal courtyard design,mainly discusses how to integrate the functions of traditional courtyard and modern villas and how to solve their contradictories.Starting from practical aspect,it introduces the specific overall horizontal layout and single layout in courtyard design,with a view to guide the courtyard design in future.
