On Qian Qianyi's Attitude toward Xinshi

《心史》是宋遗民郑思肖在鼎革之际写的一部诗文集,因内容反抗蒙元,完成后藏于古井中,明末被发现并刊行,其后遭清廷查禁,且有人称为伪书。作者以钱益谦诗文为据,认为钱氏肯定《心史》非伪书,但钱氏对此书内容则赞许与贬评并存。

Xinshi is a poem collection by Zheng Sixiao of the late Song and early Yuan dynasty. Hardly had he accomplished the book when it was hidden in an old well for its anti-government content. It was not until the late Min dynasty that the book was found and then published very soon. In the following Qing Dynasty, it was banned by then government and further treated as a pseudograph by some scholars. This paper argues that Qian Qianyi might be convinced of authenticity of the book, as evidenced by his poems, though with the mix of praise and criticism.
