Jinan's quyi--folk art forms rich in local flavor including ballads, singing, storytelling, comic dialogues, ciapper talks, etc-used to be famous throughout China. Since China was opened to the outside world in the Qjng Dynasty, due to its unique geographical location and deep cultural reserves, Jinan attracted a large number of famous quyi performers. Consequently, standing like the legs of a tripod, Jinan, Beijing and Tianjin were honored as the "Three Ports of Quyi." As a result, numerous teahouses and storytelling venues like Chenguang Teahouse, Minghuju and Furong Hall came into being in Jinan.
