以Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ作为传输工具，利用Ｗｅｂ强大的多媒体功能，网络课程在远程教育中发挥着越来越重要的作 用。目前，在英国开放大学，许多课程已利用Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ作为某个教学环节的传输工具，但是，完全的网络课程还只占 很少的比例。《网络，计算机和你》是大学本科层次的一门完全网络课程。该课程的建设为开放大学网络课程的建 设提供了许多经验，同时课程建设与教学实践中所遇到的困难与问题，也是远程教育第三代教材建设研究的方向。

Courses on net plays more and more important role in the distance education with the powerful multimedia function and internet as transmission tool. In the Open University in Britain, many courses have been using internet as the transmission tool in certain segment of the courses. But the complete internet courses only take up a small proportion. 'Internet, Computer and You' is a complete internet course at the undergraduate level. The establishment of this course supplies much experience for the construction of the internet courses of the Open University. The construction of the courses and the problems in the teaching practice are the research goals in the construction of the third generation teaching material for distance education.
