高等教育和区域现代化发展之间存在着互动的关系。改革开放30多年来,广东和浙江的发展说明了经济快速发展拉动了高等教育的发展,而快速发展的高等教育,又为经济快速发展提供了人才和智力的支撑。但高等教育促进区域现代化发展是有实现条件的,即高等教育和区域现代化互动关系的形成应该是高等教育系统与经济、科技、文化、社会系统相互作用和相互促进机制的形成过程。未来,高等教育在促进区域现代化发展的前景和责任是,高等教育要从仅仅适应社会发展转变到全面发挥适应、促进、指导社会发展的作用。
