The Role of Feminism in Evolution of Modern China

女权运动,这个词仿佛离我们渐行渐远了,在常人眼中从近代社会开始,女性就逐步走向独立与解放,在他们看来女性解放的道路是奔放的,但我认为恰恰相反,中国近代化开始于西方列强的入侵,而中国妇女的解放从一开始就是整个近代化的一部分,无论是作为口号还是措施,在这种特殊历史背景下的中国的女权运动无法摆脱民族国家观念的影响。

The feminist movement , which emerged in modem China , is regarded as a movement to make women free and independent gradually. However , the paper holds that the Feminist Movement carried out in China should be taken as one part of modernization of Chinese society under the circumstance of foreigners＇ invasion , the movement itself can not break out of the restraint of freedom of country or nationality.
