摘要
一直以来,直译与意译、归化与异化作为翻译理论方法备受关注。"陌生化"作为一种效果,一种艺术表现形式也越来越受关注。陌生化效果的保留有助于描写译者兼文化创作者的双重身份和译者的翻译实践,特别是其张扬、丰富的翻译艺术技巧。钱钟书先生的《围城》是备受国内外褒赞的中国现代小说,其蕴藏的深厚文化底蕴也让众多翻译学家望洋兴叹。Jeanne Kelly与茅于轼的译本不能说是完美的,但却是一部优秀的译本。试从其作中探讨陌生化效果的翻译策略,希望翻译学者们对陌生化有更加清晰的认识。
In the theory of translation methods, literal translation and free translation, domestication and dissimilation have been received particular attention all the time. "Defamiliarization", as an effect and art form, also has been gaining increasingly con- cern. The reserve of effect of defamiliarizaiton helps describe translation practice, especially his or her spread of subjectivity with rich translation artificial techniques, of the dual identity of translator as well as culture creation. Fortress Besieged, a Chinese modem novel composed by Qian Zbongshu, wins high appraise at home and abroad. However, the deep culture held in Fortress Besieged makes numerous translators hard to follow. The English version by Jeanne Kelly and Nathan K. Mao is not certainly flawless, but it could be a preeminent production. The probes into the strategies of translation on the efamiliarization effect enable the scholars to have a clear knowledge with it.
